What a bad month

19th April:
This morning, i went to the power plant early in the morning (5.30 a.m) to see how the plant start up. The plant is shut down last Saturday because if some signal fault, but sadly, the plant trip again because of the same problem. In this month, the plant already trip for 5 times because of the same problem. The system failed to detect the check back signal for diffusion burner opening.

Today, i helped to overhaul a vertical high pressure pump. Although i got myself in a very dirty condition, but i am very happy because at last i actually learn how to service the pump.

Plant Course Training

last week, 12th - 16th April 2010, i went through a plant course training with my seniors and this training is guided by a very experience engineer from Germany. In the plant course, it covered transformer, generator, condenser, fire fighting system, water treatment plant, start up frequency converter, start up program and so on. I benefited a lot from the training but yet, i hope i can get involve in more hands on skill after that.

1st day IT

This morning, i reached YTL Pasir Gudang power plant at 7.22a.m then the security guard asked me to wait at a waiting room beside together with another uniten trainee (bajwinder). After that, we went through a safety briefing by the guard. Next, i assigned to mechanical department and i met with the department manager, Mr Yap. Next, i was guided by a senior, Vincent, mechanical engineer for the plant tour and collect my PPE. Unfortunately, the safety shoe is currently out of stock, so i need to wait for 1 week. Because of this, there are many rooms i cannot enter like gas turbine room and boiler. Next, i was brought to the mechanical workshop and met with the technicians at there, they are very friendly and sincere. Before i can start my work, i m requested to briefly go through how the plant is operate, so i read the personnel training manual at the document room. There are a lot things that i need to learn.. =.=
